About this Faculty
Faith Bynoe, MDiv, RYT is the Founder and Owner of Syncretic Wellness. In the interconnection of wellness and social equity, Faith Bynoe exemplifies transformative leadership. With over two decades of steadfast dedication, she not only led but also redefined holistic well-being and community advocacy on a global scale. Her authoritative yet approachable presence has established her as a key figure in the narrative of healing justice. For over 20 years, Faith has worked with diverse groups throughout the US and internationally.
As a grantmaker, Faith was the sole program officer of the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund, managing and advising the philanthropic investments of over $80 million. Subsequently, Faith became a technical assistance provider and rose to the role of Vice President of Marga, Inc where she managed its racial equity portfolio, including the Racial Equity in Philanthropy Group (REPG). REPG convened philanthropic institutions with over $2 billion in assets committed to effectively promoting racial equity in their operations and practices.
The driving force and CEO of Syncretic Wellness, Faith blends integrative health principles with a deep spiritual foundation. Influenced by womanism and a commitment to racial equity, she travels beyond conventional boundaries, using interdisciplinary practices to encourage individual and collective resilience. Faith supports leaders in cultivating a culture of wellness - equipping leaders with effective wellness strategies to combat burnout, address trauma and emotional fatigue.
Using this framework, Faith’s served thousands, doing individual spiritual care, conducting retreats with community based and national organizations, self-care workshops and healing circles. She does emergency response and recovery work, fostering care to medical providers in Haiti after the 2012 earthquake, social justice leaders in the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, and designing strategies and supporting NY Presbyterian Queens Hospital staff during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Faith’s clients include the Children's Defense Fund, NYC Dept of Health, Faith in Public Life, NY Presbyterian Hospital, Astraea and NoVo Foundation, CUNY K16, 1199 SEIU, and the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy.
An influential voice as a public speaker and educator, Faith’s a TEDx speaker, she’s spoken at multiple platforms like the A Philip Randolph Institute, Samuel Dewit Proctor and has conducted seminars at Columbia University and the University of California, Berkeley.
Faith holds degrees from Howard University School of Divinity, Long Island University- Brooklyn Campus, and holds a certificate from Georgetown University’s Nonprofit Management Executive Program. She’s a licensed minister; registered yoga teacher; certified in medical reiki; and trained in Mind-Body Medicine and Integrative Therapy.
